Hello Everyone, in today’s blog we going to discuss and learn how to Use the Metrics app in Kibana to analyze and answer questions about metrics collected in Elasticsearch ^^

After all the steps we did now it’s time to learn how to use the metrics app, you go to Kibana>>Observability>> to the left you see Metrics Explorer we gonna start with it.

When you click on it you will get this:

you can sort the result by max, min, avr … of anything from the metrics you want for example here we sort the result of Max of system.memeory.free, you can pick the time range you would like, also you can choose one or more of filed of metrics you want to sort your result.

Now let’s jump to Inventory the other app where we can also see the details about metrics,

on the top left we can see different filters to sort the hosts, like by cloud provider or by availability zone and so on, one you click on the host you will get this

you can see it like this or if you want to open this one on different page you see on top right corner you can Open as page it will take to this

as you can see you have better view and detail about different metrics like CPU usage, Load, Memory usage, Network Traffic and so on.

and finally you have Hosts

here you have better version and more details about your host in term of metrics,

Now to get back to the preparation for the exam, you will get a question related to the specific metric on service or system, you know now all the different app, depend on the question you go and search for the answer, for example when was the pick usage for CPU in last 24 h, you go and add time range for last 24 h and see the from the visualisation and see the pick, and then you copy past the answer.

let me know if you have any question! will see you in the next one ^^
